Adam Ledford Artist Talk and Workshop in Asheville

ARTIST TALK

What would Levittown look like as Pompeii?

Discover how Scale Up artist, Adam Ledford answers this provocative question by creating a portrait of mid-century America through the recreation of objects with clay and charcoal drawings in his project, Don’t Worry About the Government. Ledford will discuss a visual reimagining of Levittown, an archetypal post-war suburb of Philadelphia, and how his work invites us to look at post-war America’s changing relationship with nature, work, and food as evidenced by the proliferation of home gadgets, convenience foods, and decoration.
